Royal Tournaments

Grand Tournament of the 7 Virtues
During Our reign, We will be holding a Grand Tournament of the 7 Virtues for the heavy fighters and the fencers. The events that will have a themed tournament are listed on Our Progress page and on those days, gifts will be awarded to those fighters (one for heavy and one for fencing) who best exemplifies that virtue. How the fighters are chosen will be by populace vote. On the list table will be a box to hold the votes of the populace and during the tournament, all will be asked to place their vote. This includes the gentles attending the event as well as the fighters themselves. The results will be tallied by the King and Queen with the winner being announced at Court that evening.

At the end of Our reign, the fighter who has won or demonstrated the majority of the virtues will win the Grand Prize.

Queen’s Newbie Tournaments
Her Majesty has always supported the courage it takes for a new combatant to take to the field, and admired the spirit they display. Therefore, the Queen of the Northern Lands, will sponsor a series of newbie tournaments at the event that has enough newly authorized combatants attending.

The qualifications of a “newbie fighter” will be announced on the day after assessing what new fighters are in attendance. The conditions to fight as a new fighter will be flexible in order to allow as much participation as possible. For example, one tournament may be based on authorization date (less than 2 years) or if one has not won a tournament yet, etc.

Her Majesty encourages new fighters to come out to as many as possible and looks forward to seeing you take the field.

Ealdormere’s Royal Unbelts
The Unbelt Team did Ealdormere proud at Pennsic XXXIX and His Majesty wants to keep this momentum going as We enter into a period of peace. At each event, His Majesty has decreed that time be allocated to allow both members of the Unbelts and Chivalry, and those who aspire to wear the Red Wolf, to practice and train. Training will include 2 and 3 man melees (as space allowed), great weapons, tactics and strategy.
